Wellbeing Buddy Mentoring

MENTOR RECRUITMENT IS NOW CLOSED

Wellbeing Buddy Mentoring aims to support those students who are struggling to cope with their emotional and mental wellbeing. Student mentors, known as Wellbeing Buddies support Wellbeing Mentees to manage their issues and feel more comfortable with social situations and academic & personal relationships. Students experiencing common disorders such as low mood, depression or anxiety can have poor motivation, lack confidence and have low self esteem, which can make it difficult for students to engage with their academic work or mix socially with others.  Wellbeing Buddies support students to manage these issues and feel more comfortable with social situations, academic and personal relationships and encourage them to seek appropriate support when necessary.  The Wellbeing Buddy Mentoring programme ties in with UCLan’s Healthy University initiative.  This aspires to create a learning environment that enhances the health, well-being and sustainability of the university community and enables people to achieve their full potential.
