Safety

While at UCLan, we want you to feel safe and secure at all times. There are things you can do to help prevent problems. You can call Campus Security on 01772 892068 or ext. 2068, 24 hours a day to deal with any problems. Don’t be afraid to call Preston Police on 01772 203203 or in an emergency 999 if you feel threatened.

Please take a look at the UCLan Security webpages for more information on staying safe on campus.

The University now has a police house on campus, it is situated at 23 Adelphi Street, staff and students are welcome to visit the house during surgery hours to discuss any concerns they may have, or just to pop in for a chat. Click on the following link for more information on the University police house.

The university at nightIf you are on campus at night then use the Safety Bus to get home.
Be vigilant when you are out, particularly at night.
Make sure you lock all window and doors to your room/flat/house when you leave.
Keep expensive items such as bags, jewellery, mobiles and mp3 players out of sight when in public areas.

Safe Nights Out
Plan how you will get home before you go out.
Keep an eye out for friends when you are out and about.
Make sure you know where your drink has come from and that it is in your possession at all times.
Be careful of the amount of drink you consume.
Try to walk with others, particularly at night.
