Transfer from Course:

This information is provided to guide students through the notification procedures required by the University and Partner Colleges:

To ensure that the University holds an accurate record of any changes to your studies it is essential that appropriate documentation is completed and authorised. Further advice may be obtained from your academic department, Faculty office or Partner College in the first instance, however, general guidance is provided below.

If it transpires that you need to transfer from your current course/programme to another course/programme you should do so at the earliest stage. Seek advice from your Course Leader, Head of Department, or a Personal Tutor who will arrange for the necessary notification of transfer documentation to be completed. Course/programme transfers can also affect your eligibility for continued financial support. If you have applied for financial support through your Local Education Authority always check your position first.

Withdrawal from Module / Programme

This information is provided to guide students through the notification procedures required by the University and Partner Colleges. To ensure that the University holds an accurate record of any changes to your studies it is essential that appropriate documentation is completed and authorised. Further advice may be obtained from your academic department, Faculty office or Partner College in the first instance, however, general guidance is provided below.

Withdrawal from Module(s)
Once you have registered on a module this forms part of your student record from which your assessment record is derived. If you do not wish to continue with a particular module, you must complete a module change/registration form obtainable from your academic department that must be authorised to formally withdraw your registration.

Failure to notify withdrawal from a module will mean you will be allocated a fail mark for this module and this will affect your overall assessment. You may not withdraw from a module once you have completed the final assessment. Please note that withdrawal from modules could affect your position in a number of ways particularly if you are a full time student. Always seek advice from your Course Leader/Personal Tutor.

Withdrawal from a University or Partner College Course/Programme
We hope that, having embarked on a course/programme of study with us, you will find this a stimulating and rewarding experience and that you will complete your award successfully. However there are a number of circumstances, often personal, that can lead to students withdrawing from courses/programmes. Always discuss the position with your tutors or a counsellor first as there may be other options available.

If withdrawal from the University or Partner College should become necessary you must inform either: your Course Leader; Head of Department or your Personal Tutor who will arrange to complete the necessary notification of withdrawal documentation at the earliest possible time. Delay in notification could affect your eligibility to financial support should you return to study at a later date. Check the University’s Tuition Fee Policy document for full clarification.
