Access to Learning Fund

The Access to Learning Fund (ALF) is available to full-time and part-time students who are studying at least 50% of a full-time course and disabled students who are studying at least 25% of a full time course. To be able to apply you must be a home student who meets the same residency conditions needed to qualify for UK student support, and be following an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course. Students who are eligible for maintenance must have already applied for their full entitlement before applying to ALF.

ALF monies can be awarded as a short term loan but are usually paid as a grant. The amounts will depend on your circumstances, how many applications the fund receives and how much they can distribute from the allocation which they receive. Overseas or EU (other than UK) students are not eligible to apply.
