Online library - our electronic resources

LIS subscribes to the following resources which are available for UCLan staff and students from the University network and over the internet with a password.  These resources are licensed for educational use only. 

  • e-Books
    The Library provides access to several collections of full text ebooks covering a wide range of subject areas. eBooks are digital versions of print books - available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week from any location in the world. With searchable content, built-in dictionaries and no fines, eBooks are a great way to do your research.
  • e-Databases A-Z
    More than 160 databases to chose from.  Most provide full-text articles and information, others index the contents of journals and provide essential information to help you source full-text for your area of study.
  • e-Images
    Databases providing high-resolution images, copyright-cleared for educational use, and open access internet resources.
  • e-Journals A-Z
    Search by journal title or subject to gain access the full-text of the journal we subscribe to.
  • e-Newspapers
    Search for current and archived newspaper reports from as early as the 1750's.
  • e-Passwords
    Most e-resources use the Athens authentification service to gain access.  Details of your Athens and other passwords for our electronic resources are available on-campus from our networked computers or via remote accesss only.
  • e-Reference shelf
    Recommended internet sites to help you with your reference enquiries.
  • e-Texts
    The eTexts Service allows digital copies of print copyright material to be made available for students using the eLearn Virtual Learning Environment.
