Learning and Teaching Strategy

The Learning and Teaching Strategy Phases 1, 2 and 3 are central to achieving the University's long-term vision outlined in the University's Corporate Plan. The Strategies have been developed in the context of the University's other key supporting Strategies, especially the Academic Strategy, the Widening Participation Strategy and the Human Resources Strategy.

The implementation of the Learning and Teaching Strategy has been a major priority for the University. The Learning and Teaching Strategy represents an ambitious set of initiatives, and through these the University has sought to strengthen the good practice that currently existed both within the University and in many partner institutions. It aims to encourage greater use of less traditional methods to deliver the curriculum and a far higher profile being given to helping academic staff to improve the quality of the learning and teaching experience for students. The Learning and Teaching Strategy  has been very successful in terms of enhancing learning, developing innovation and raising the profile and status of teaching. There has been significant progress towards the University vision to be an inclusive and collaborative learning community, which is recognised for its excellence in learning, teaching and research.
