What counts as work experience? Lots of things!

• Paid work - full-time or part-time, temporary or casual
• Placements and internships and work-based projects as part of your course
• Voluntary, unpaid work or taking a gap year
• Holiday work, summer jobs and working abroad
• Work shadowing

Work experience - Why do I need it?

• You'll know what it means to work in a team, and how to relate to other employees
• You'll show that your academic achievements can be used in the workplace
• You'll show you have commitment and energy in finding and keeping work
• It will help you test out jobs to help you investigate potential career choices
