Our Facilities
Overview
Tyn Dwr Outdoor Centre comprises of Tyn Dwr Hall, a listed Victorian house of ‘Tudorbethan’ style dated c.1866-70, a Victorian Coach House and a Yurt camp. Set in over seven acres of ancient woodland in the vale of Llangollen, we specialise in adventure sports, outdoor education and pursuits.
Owned and operated by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), together with our partner Pro-Active Adventure we provide a purpose built centre tailored specifically to your needs.

Accommodation capacity of 97 comprises of the following:-
• 3 Star rated Tyn Dwr Hall with 25 bed all en-suite capacity, 90-cover dining area, bar, terrace, TV lounge, private dining space and four teaching /meeting rooms.
• Victorian Coach House providing 40 bunk beds, refurbished shower and washroom facilities, social area, dining area and courtyard.
• Yurt Camp - comprising four Yurts, each sleeping eight, wood burner heating and exterior seating.
The Coach House and Yurt camp are very popular with schools being a self contained area of site.
On site facilities include:-
• High and low ropes course
• Climbing wall
• Areas for team activities
• BMX track
• Archery
Off site facilities include:-
• Climbing on the 4km limestone escarpment of The Eglwyseg, including Trevor Rocks and Worlds End
• Mountain biking in the Vale of Llangollen, in Llandegla Forest and Horseshoe Pass
• Canoeing on the Llangollen canal and River Dee
• Fell walking in the Berwyn Mountains
• Gorge walking – a number of gorges are within easy reach of the site, varying in technicality
• Within easy reach of Snowdonia National Park

Through our on site and off site facilities we deliver Outdoor and Adventure Degree courses, school outdoor programmes, youth development camps, residential summer schools, awards and instruction, corporate management and leadership training, day and residential activities and events tailored to your requirements.
