Cycling is good for you, our community and the environment - It's one of the easiest and cheapest ways of keeping fit, with 20 minutes of gentle cycling burning 100 calories
- Cycling is a clean and quiet form of transport which, unlike the car, poses little risk to humans and wildlife
- Cyclists also benefit from fast and reliable journey times - beating rush hour queues and the problems of finding parking space - often making cycling in cities twice as quick as driving
UCLan BUG
The University Bicycle User Group (BUG) was established in 2004 to improve cycling facilities on campus. It's an informal group open to all UCLan staff and students. Join BUG and receive updates on cycling developments at UCLan at www.uclan.ac.uk/bug. The website contains a wealth of information on cycling including:
- Cycling facilities
- Cycling events
- Cycle route maps
- Bicycle security
- Bicycle maintenance kits
Tax-Free Bikes for Work
UCLan are pleased to be working in conjunction with Cyclescheme to provide tax free bikes for work under a salary sacrifice scheme. This scheme, available for UCLan staff, has the following benefits:
