Enhanced scholarship scheme for international students

NEW FOR SEPTEMBER 2011  

A range of UCLan International Excellence Awards worth 50% of the tuition fees

 

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is delighted to announce an enhanced scholarship scheme for those students wishing to join a programme of study commencing in September 2011.


All international students will be granted an International Scholarship of 500 GBP per year for the duration of their programme of study at UCLan. In addition to this scholarship and to recognise academic excellence we are able to offer a Vice Chancellor’s Award to those students with excellent academic grades. This award will be for a further 500 GBP per year for the duration of your programme of study at UCLan.
UCLan is now delighted to announce further additions to this comprehensive range of scholarships which will be available to applicants wishing to join the university in September 2011.

Who can apply?

New international (non-EU) privately funded fee paying students who will study an undergraduate or postgraduate full-time taught programme of study at the University of Central Lancashire commencing in September 2011.

THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS 30 JUNE 2011.

We encourage all international students to read our eligibility criteria before applying.  

Scholarships provided by other organisations are also available.

Our range of scholarships available to international students now include:

International scholarships
Every self-funded international student joining a full-time programme of study at the University of Central Lancashire will be awarded an International Scholarship of 500 GBP for each year of their study. (Separate awards apply to those students progressing from UCLan programmes overseas).


Vice Chancellor Awards
To reward academic excellence for those students with enhanced academic grades, a further award of 500 GBP will be awarded for each year of study on your chosen programme.  (Separate awards apply to those students progressing from UCLan programmes overseas).

Postgraduate Scholarship
If you have already completed an undergraduate programme of study at UCLan, or any of its international partners listed here:

you will be offered a 20% scholarship for your chosen postgraduate taught programme at UCLan in Preston.

UCLan International Excellence Awards 2011

Sporting Excellence Award
This award is open to any applicants who are applying for a postgraduate taught programme related to sport. This includes: MA Sports Coaching and MA Sport, Policy and Community Development.
Standard terms and conditions apply to this award, as detailed below.

UCLan Bangladesh Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student for either a one year postgraduate taught programme or the first year of an undergraduate programme. This award is open to applicants who are nationals of, and resident in Bangladesh, at the time of application, and is available to applicants to any UCLan taught programme of study.

UCLan China Excellence Award
Three 50% scholarship is available to a student for either a one year postgraduate taught programme or the first year of an undergraduate programme. This award is open to applicants who are nationals of, and resident in P R China, at the time of application, and is available to applicants to any UCLan taught programme of study.

UCLan India Excellence Award
Two 50% scholarships are available to students for a one year postgraduate taught programme. This award is open to applicants who are nationals of, and resident in, India at the time of application. One award will be offered to a student undertaking a programme within the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences, and the other is available to students undertaking a programme within the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences.

UCLan Levant Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student applying for a one year postgraduate taught programme. This award is open to applicants who are nationals of, and resident in Syria, Lebanon or Jordan, at the time of application, and is available to applicants to any UCLan taught programme of study.

UCLan Malaysia Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student applying for an undergraduate programme of study at the University of Central Lancashire. The award is available for each year of a three year programme, subject to satisfactory progression and is open to applicants who are nationals of, and resident in Malaysia, at the time of application, and is available to applicants to any UCLan taught programme of study.

UCLan Mauritius Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student applying for either a one year postgraduate taught programme or the first year of an undergraduate programme. This award is open to applicants who are nationals of, and resident in Mauritius, at the time of application, and is available to applicants to any UCLan taught programme of study.

UCLan Nepal Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student for either a one year postgraduate taught programme or the first year of an undergraduate programme. This award is open to applicants who are nationals of, and resident in Nepal, at the time of application, and is available to applicants to any UCLan taught programme of study.

UCLan and Yaba College of Technology (Nigeria) Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student who has successfully completed their HND programme at Yaba College of Technology. The award is for a 50% scholarship for one year’s study at the University of Central Lancashire on a recognised top up programme or progression route.

UCLan and University of Lagos (Nigeria) Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student who has successfully completed the University of Lagos Foundation Programme and progresses to a three-year bachelor degree programme at the University of Central Lancashire. The award is available for each year of a three year programme, subject to satisfactory progression.

UCLan and Kaduna Polytechnic (Nigeria) Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student who has completed a HND programme of study at Kaduna Polytechnic. The award is for a 50% scholarship for one year’s study at the University of Central Lancashire on a recognised top up programme or progression route.

UCLan Pakistan Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student applying for a one year postgraduate taught programme at the University of Central Lancashire. This award is open to applicants who are nationals of and resident in Pakistan, at the time of applying for their programme of study. 

UCLan Russian Federation Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student applying for a one year postgraduate taught programme at the University of Central Lancashire. This award is open to applicants who are nationals of and resident in the Russian Federation, at the time of applying for their programme of study.

UCLan Sri Lanka Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student for either a one year postgraduate taught programme or the first year of an undergraduate programme. This award is open to applicants who are nationals of, and resident in Sri Lanka, at the time of application, and is available to applicants to any UCLan taught programme of study.

UCLan Thailand Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student applying for a one year postgraduate taught programme at the University of Central Lancashire. This award is open to applicants who are nationals of and resident in Thailand, at the time of applying for their programme of study.

UCLan UAE Excellence Award
One 50% scholarship is available to applicants who are nationals of, or resident in the UAE (sight of residency visa required) at the time of application. This award is available to applicants to any full time postgraduate programme offered by Lancashire Business School (details at: http://www.uclan.ac.uk/schools/lbs/courses/postgraduate.php)

UCLan Vietnam Excellence Award
Two 50% scholarship are available to applicants who are nationals of, and residents in Vietnam, at the time of application, and is available to applicants to any UCLan taught programme of study.
One award is available for a student applying for a three year undergraduate programme at the University of Central Lancashire and is available for all three years of study, subject to satisfactory progression at the end of each year.
An additional award is available for a student applying for a one year postgraduate programme at the University of Central Lancashire.

UCLan CATS Award
One 50% scholarship is available to a student from the Cambridge Education Group, CATS College foundation programme, applying for an undergraduate programme at the University of Central Lancashire. The student must be currently enrolled on the foundation programme at either Cambridge, Canterbury or London.

UCLan CEG Progression Award
One 50% scholarship is available to the student on the Undergraduate Foundation Programme at the University of Central Lancashire with the highest average grades. The award is open to all students who are currently enrolled on the programme and is applicable for all three years of the chosen undergraduate programme, subject to satisfactory progression.
