Preston Campus

Our largest campus is in Preston, one of the UK’s newest cities, situated in the heart of the Northwest. We’re close to the City centre, so it’s only a short walk to the bus and rail stations, and handy for a night out.

The campus is clean, green and compact. We’ve recently invested more than £120 million on buildings for teaching, learning and leisure, including our iconic Media Factory for media and performing arts students, and new facilities for dentistry, pharmacy and engineering. If you’re interested in sport, we’ve a multi-million pound sports arena about a mile from campus, which offers some of the best facilities in the Northwest and we’re busy building a new indoor sport and fitness centre.

There’s a lot to do, both on and off campus. Preston is a friendly, safe city which offers a good range of shops, cultural and leisure facilities.  UCLan is also the home of 53 Degrees, the Students’ Union entertainment venue where you get the choice of live concerts, comedy and club nights. And if you want to get out and about, there are good road, rail and bus links to the rest of the country and airports close by in Manchester, Liverpool and Blackpool.

Burnley Campus

Our Burnley Campus builds on many years of working successfully with Burnley College in delivering foundation degrees and other UCLan courses.  The University forms part of a campus, close to the centre of Burnley, which also incorporates the Sixth Form Centre and Skills and Adult Centre of Burnley College.  This combined campus offers state-of-the-art facilities, including a brand new Sports Centre with full size outdoor pitch, a purpose-built recording studio and radio station, a Media Access bureau with direct access to Media City in Salford, a law court, a health and sports therapy suite and interactive whiteboards and full recording facilities in every teaching and IT lab.

West Cumbria Campus

UCLan's Westlakes Campus is located at Westlakes Science and Technology Park near Whitehaven - on Britain's Energy Coast TM.  From our Samuel Lindow Building, we deliver high quality teaching, research and knowledge transfer underpinned by first-class facilities and expert support.  Through UCLan, Westlakes now has links to some of the world’s most exciting research and employers - all tailored to the local scene in its global context.

Against a background of ‘real world’ research we encourage innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial thinking.  All UCLan courses are underpinned by high quality research, backed-up with vocational excellence and delivered by industry active experts and UCLan has been rated Top Modern University in the NW for the 6th year running by The Sunday Times Good University Guide.

UCLan Westlakes is established and embedded in the local economy, community and educational network.  At Westlakes campus we offer opportunities for research and a programme of outreach in collaboration with the Samuel Lindow Foundation and its national and international collaborators.
