Training, Education & CPD Opportunities
Introduction
The Healthy Settings Development Unit is uniquely placed to provide training, education and CPD opportunities – providing participants with the know-how, understanding and competencies required to meet existing and emerging challenges in public health.
Healthy Settings: Theory, Policy and Practice
This specialist module is available as an accredited University Certificate or as freestanding CPD (it can also contribute towards the MSc in Applied Public Health) – delivered in two blocks of two days. This provides a relevant and engaging learning experience for anyone whose work includes responsibility for public health, health improvement and well-being. Using practical illustrations, case studies and problem based learning, the module will be of interest to a wide range of people concerned to address the determinants of health and reduce inequalities.
Having attended the module, participants will be able to:
- examine factors that influence health in and across settings
- review policies and frameworks relevant to healthy settings
- understand the settings approach and methods
- apply theory to practice
- take an integrative approach
- make links to national and local priorities
- show an awareness of issues relevant to evidence and evaluation.
Additional details are available in the Training & CPD Leaflet.
