Human Resource Management
Human Resource Management (HRM) is concerned with managing individuals and groups in the workplace, an increasingly vital part of the management function.
The subject is also currently available as part of the Business Joints programme and provides an undergraduate route for students who have a particular interest in people management. It seeks to provide both theoretical understanding and the skills you will need to pursue a career in HRM. The subject includes study of the recruitment and selection of personnel, equality issues at work, training and development, participation and employee involvement in organisations, negotiating and bargaining and a critical evaluation of HRM in theory and practice.
