History

UCLan’s programme covers history from c.1500 to the present day and has a geographical range spanning North America, Britain and Europe, South Asia and the far east. The course incorporates perspectives from political, social, economic and cultural history. As well as enhancing your knowledge and understanding of the past, an important aspect of the subject is to develop the practical and transferable skills involved in actually studying History.

“My time at UCLan gave me more confidence in public speaking, and also allowed me to appreciate the importance of structure and good research planning as a prelude to writing a decent dissertation.”

Kirk Houghton, BA(Hons) Modern World History
