Psychological Studies

Foundation Entry Year

During your Foundation Entry Year you will study alongside peers from related courses, whilst you gain a broad introduction to psychology and related disciplines. Throughout the course you’ll apply theory to real-life problems, ensuring you have both an understanding of psychology and its application. Our psychology courses are accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and delivered using superb facilities, particularly laboratories dedicated to different core areas of our provision: the Health Psychology Suite, Cognitive Psychology Complex, Brain Imaging Lab, Child Observation Suite and Sport & Exercise Psychology Laboratories. These ensure your learning is based around practical, first-hand experiences developing the skills you’ll require for employment. You'll learn in a first-class, research-based environment, outstanding support from teaching staff, as well as for the embedded nature of the teaching of skills, which aids your understanding, and finally the provision of free BPS membership for all undergraduates: the first University to do so.

For detailed information about studying this course at the University of Central Lancashire, please see the course specification and course handbook for your year of entry: 2016.
