Why study this programme?

The Accounting & Finance MA programme offers you the opportunity to gain the essential knowledge and skills in the area of Accounting, Finance and Financial Management through a structured and focused programme of academic studies.

The Accounting & Finance MA Programme also enables you to develop a professional accountancy career and study CIMA through the Master’s Gateway route.

The Master’s Gateway route involves sitting CIMA’s Gateway exam/ Management Case Study Exam. (The content of the MA in Accounting and Finance programme prepares you to sit this examination during the course). Once you have passed this three hour exam, you’ll be granted 12 exam exemptions from the certificate, operational and management levels and you’ll also gain the intermediary award ‘CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting’.

You can then start studying the strategic level of CIMA’s Professional Qualification and work towards completing it to gain the full Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation.

Find out more about CIMA’s Master’s Gateway route.

Entry Requirements

Minimum 2:2 Honours degree in a business-related subject, which should ideally include some study of accounting and finance. Other applications, for example, applicants with business experience, will be considered at the Course Leader’s discretion.

Programme at a Glance

The Accounting & Finance MA Programme enables you to develop a professional accountancy career and join CIMA through the accelerated ‘gateway’ route.
