Do you feel daunted at the prospect of facilitating a group or workshop? If so this half-day session will provide practical tips that will help you rise to the challenge.
Offering helpful insights into the process of developing and delivering workshops as well managing group dynamics, this fun and informal session will address common challenges and help you identify your individual strengths and delivery style.

The workshop is designed as a general introduction for anyone who has an interest in delivering groups or workshops.
Learning Environment & Assessment:
Attendance without examination
Lowri is a Lecturer in Psychological Interventions at UCLan, she has an MSc in Clinical Psychology and has worked as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner in the NHS since 2010. Lowri has extensive experience in facilitating psychoeducational workshops, and in a past life worked as an actress and drama coach.
Liz is a Senior Lecturer in Psychological Interventions at UCLan, with an MSc in Advanced Practice Interventions in Mental Health. Liz has worked in Primary Care IAPT services since 2004 as a clinician, supervisor and service manager supporting the development of the PWP workforce including chairing the PWP Professional Network.
Learning outcome & aims
During workshops participants will:
- Learn how to build rapport with group participants
- Explore how to create engaging workshops
- Discover individual strengths and facilitation style
- Practice facilitation techniques in order to improve confidence.
Industry links & professional accreditation
We have great links with employers including household names such as Sony, BAE Systems and Apple. We also have links with the smaller companies in the region and offer help and assistance to more than 1,000 of these – with many of our graduates staying in the region it is important we develop these relationships.

These workshops are available as part of the Service Level Agreement which UCLan has with a number of local NHS Trusts. If you wish to apply using this funding please gain the support of your line manager and complete the online application through www.cpd-applynw.nhs.uk
