This workshop is specifically for qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to introduce them to the COM-B model which is core to the new PWP curriculum and is designed to help PWPs support their patients with behaviour change using a range of evidence based interventions.
The workshop will also look at trouble-shooting common PWP difficulties in practice across patient assessment and treatment decision making, and application of interventions with specific disorders and in response to diverse patient need.

Liz is a Senior Lecturer in Psychological Interventions at UCLan, with an MSc in Advanced Practice Interventions in Mental Health. Liz has worked in Primary Care IAPT services since 2004 as a clinician, supervisor and service manager supporting the development of the PWP workforce including chairing the PWP Professional Network.
Lowri is a Lecturer in Psychological interventions at UCLan, she has an MSc in Clinical Psychology and has worked as a PWP in an IAPT service since 2010. Lowri is passionate about the role of PWP’s and promoting the importance of work-place wellbeing within IAPT services.
Learning outcome & aims
By the end of the workshops participants will:
- Develop your knowledge of the COM-B model, part of the new PWP curriculum
- Enhance skills in the breadth of assessments within IAPT services
- Enhance skills in implementing interventions with a diverse patient group
