Social Anxiety is considered a serious anxiety disorder, whereby individual believe they will behave in an unacceptable way and this will lead to rejection, loss of worth or status, and failure to achieve important personal goals. CBT is a NICE recommended treatment that teaches individuals how to deal with their thoughts and behaviours around their social anxiety.

Any health professionals such as counsellors, nurses, social workers, psychologists and GP’s. This course is particularly suited to PWP’s who wish to develop and enhance their CBT skills.
Learning Environment & Assessment:
Robin Bailey is a Senior Lecturer at UCLAN and a qualified CBT therapist. His is a prolific researcher in the area of cognitive and behavioural therapies and has presented at a range of international conferences.
Learning outcome & aims
By the end of the workshops participants will:
- Understand the theory of CBT for Social Anxiety.
- Develop a CBT case conceptualisation of Social Anxiety.
- Learn techniques for treating Social Anxiety.
