Art and Design

Foundation Entry Year

During your Foundation Entry Year you will study alongside peers from related courses, whilst you gain a broad introduction to the many opportunities and career possibilities available in art and design. This introduction to the discipline will give you the tools to operate in your specialist field and prepare you for progression to a range of undergraduate honours programmes within the School of Art, Design and Fashion. You’ll be taught by research-informed specialist staff in the design studios, which combine a relaxed and informal atmosphere with the rigours of a professional working environment. The main teaching activity takes the form of project briefs in a studio environment, supported by lectures and workshops which develop specific skills.
