Scholars Hospitality can provide a customised menu for your event created by our in-house team of highly trained chefs using locally grown produce whenever possible. Local suppliers in the region are used for fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, bread and eggs in consideration of reducing the environmental impact of food transportation.
The Hospitality Team are trained to industry standards and are able to give information on the range of options, ingredients of dishes and advice about dietary requirements.
We have been awarded Fairtrade Status and all our tea, coffee and sugar served in Hospitality Services are Fairtrade; likewise we have a selection of Fairtrade Wines available from Scholars Restaurant and Bar. We are committed to ensuring the farmers from developing regions benefit from our purchasing power.
We have been awarded the Good Egg Award by Commission for World Farming. Since 2007, the Good Egg Award has celebrated companies that use or have committed to use cage-free eggs or egg products.
We have been awarded the Recipe 4 Health Award by Lancashire Trading Standards for our focus on healthy eating, the environment and social responsibility. To gain the award we have been assessed on the following: Compliance with food safety, food standards, licensing and age restricted sales legislation and have an awareness of healthy eating, environmental issues, allergens and alcohol issues.
