The College of Science and Technology strives to be internationally recognised for excellence in teaching and research; providing an unrivalled student experience to equip confident and skilled graduates for lifelong achievement in the global market. We produce world-leading research and have an excellent track record of working with industry, the business community and the public sector to provide innovative solutions to a range of real-world problems.
The College comprises four schools, with over 4000 students and 300 members of staff on campus. We have a wide range of courses in subjects such as archaeology, biology, chemistry, computing, engineering, forensic science, geography, mathematics, neuroscience, physics, policing and psychology.
The College offers a broad course portfolio at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and current supports over 170 research students undertaking PhD, MPhil or MSc by Research programmes across these discipline areas.
Staff within the College were submitted to eight different Units of Assessment in the REF 2014 exercise, and produced research that was ranked as world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour.
In addition, the College franchises programmes to partner institutions all over the globe, including Oman, Hong Kong, Mauritius and China.
The College provides tremendous opportunities for students to learn and develop a deeper understanding of their subject discipline, whilst getting hands-on experience of industry-standard equipment.
