This Degree Apprenticeship has been designed in collaboration with local employers who need to fill skills gaps in their teams. Whether you are working for a digital agency or working in a digital role in another sector, having a BSc Hons Degree Apprenticeship will help employees develop to the next level and help the employers successfully grow.

WHAT IS A DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP?

A Degree Apprenticeship is a degree you study for while working as an apprentice with an employer and is paid for by your employer and the Government. The course and the apprenticeship are designed to a national standard for a particular job role and often come with professional qualifications and accreditation.

WHY STUDY THIS DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP COURSE?

Students on the course will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge, practical skills and understanding of a broad range of digital technologies, web design and development. They will learn how to solve technical and human problems relating to the use of digital technology systems, develop the ability to analyse digital requirements and information from a variety of sources, building a professional profile with a confident approach to their work.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE LEAD TO?

The current course is specifically designed for people currently working in a digital agency, or in a digital role in another business sector. It provides the opportunity to develop to degree level without the debt, while continuing in employment.

WHAT QUALIFICATION IS RECEIVED AT THE END OF THE COURSE?

On successful completion of the full 3 year programme, graduates receive an award of BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions, from the University of Central Lancashire.

This is a brand new fully accredited degree course that has been designed with local digital business leaders to fill skills gaps.

Entry Requirements

104-112 points at A2; (Grades BCC)
BTEC Subsidiary Diploma
BTEC Extended Diploma: at level 3
BTEC Diploma: in Information Technology, Science or an Advanced Apprenticeship in a related subject
GCSE grades A-C in Maths and English or equivalent

 

 

We will also offer a non-standard entry route for people who do not meet the qualification requirements, but who have relevant work experience.

COURSE DELIVERY

Delivered on day release at our Burnley campus every Friday in the Autumn and Spring semesters, then work based modules in the Summer. The course will combine taught modules in the classroom and practical work based modules with regular staff visits to your place of employment. The degree will be assessed through practical and theoretical project work, with in-class tests, written assignments, reports, interviews, presentations and some formal examinations.
