Film and media studies

Choose from a wide range of options, including Hollywood, Indian Cinema, Extreme Cinema, Popular Television Drama and Comedy. We focus on the study of mass media, such as television, the press, the cinema, advertising and photography in order to understand the central role of different media forms in our outlook on the world.  

Our programme also unusually includes the popular Football in Society which looks at the role of the sport and its influence on our culture.   On campus we have an outstanding art-house cinema showing international and mainstream films. Our students will also have the chance to study modules related to employment in media-related industries and undertake an optional work placement.
