The Institute of Local and Family History

The ILFH is now 10 years old. Help us celebrate at our forthcoming conference on the Past, Present and Future of Family History.

The Institute of Local and Family History was founded in 2001 to provide training, resources and courses for those with an interest in the history of families and communities in Lancashire, the north west of England, and beyond. We hold regular events throughout the year in Preston and provide access via this website to indexes and other resources created in house by academics and students.

We have run over 100 conferences and study days on a wide variety of topics. We also publish an annual Bulletin of Local and Family History.
