Halls of Residence - at a glance

The University has in the region of 2200 accommodation places in halls of residence for first year students. The halls listed here are either owned directly by the University or leased by UCLan and are located within, or very close by, the heart of the main campus.
Code of Practice - our Halls are regulated by independent bodies, details of which can be found on the individual Halls pages.

Each hall is self-catering and prices include all fuel and water bills.

On your application form, you will state whether you would like en-suite or standard accommodation. Accommodation is allocated by Accommodation Services on a first come, first served basis. This chart is to give you a brief overview of the accommodation we provide. As an alternative to University accommodation, it is possible for new students to live in privately registered halls or houses.

Internet

There is free internet access in all University owned and leased accommodation. In all of our standard halls and in Roeburn and IQ Preston you can link to the internet via the UCLan network lite scheme. UCLan-Wireless is also available in the following UCLan owned halls of residence: Derwent, Douglas, Eden, IQ Preston, Pendle, Ribble, Roeburn and Whitendale.

Television

In line with the UK Digital switchover, rooms in UCLan halls of residence television aerial points are not supported for television services. Therefore, televisions and set-top boxes are unlikely to work in Halls of Residence rooms. To connect to television channels on your laptop or pc in in the halls of residence you can use services such as iPlayer and TVCatchup or alternatively there is downloadable software. You may still need a TV licence.

Rooms

Every bedroom in our accommodation also has a study desk and chair, chest of drawers, wardrobe, wash hand basin, whilst Roeburn Hall and University leased halls are fully en-suite in every bedroom. There are also adapted rooms in the halls for those students with disabilities.
