After playing semi-professionally for Club Deportivo Jávea whilst he lived in Spain, Taylor was looking for a course in England that suited his interest. Taylor’s football coach in Spain put him in touch with Myerscough College as he knew about the courses held at the College. Taylor initially studied the FD Football Coaching at Myerscough College and on completion of his foundation degree, he decided to top up to an honours degree at the UCLan Preston campus with his fellow students. “I felt that it [the course] offered a unique course with great connections at local professional sports teams.” Taylor added that the benefits of progressing to UCLan were “being able to actually study at the university and learn different aspects of sports coaching. As there were a wide variety of disciplines within the course, such as gymnastics, cricket, rugby etc., we learned from each other, particularly through an online blog we conducted as part of our module called Practice & Reflection.”
