At UCLan we strive to provide our Nursing students with an outstanding university experience, and pride ourselves on considering each student’s individual needs. We have maintained a consistent cohort of Nursing students in recent years and we ensure that each student gets the individual support they need by keeping key lectures to a maximum of 50 minutes, with the majority of sessions being undertaken in small groups of no more than 30 students. In the School of Nursing we allocate students into a home group when they start the course. They remain in this group for the duration of their course and are taught in these home groups for most of their small group sessions. Once a home group has been allocated students are contacted by their home group tutor, this is an academic member of staff who acts as academic advisor for the duration of the course, for both academic and personal support.
