MA Sports Coaching (2014)

Course:
MA Sports Coaching
Graduated:
2014
Employers Since Graduating:
Cornerstone Vocational Training and  International English School, Järfälla, Stockholm, Sweden (IESJ).

I am working as a PE teacher at the International Engelska Skolan, Sweden. I am responsible for the delivery of our ‘Idrott and Hälsa’ (Sport and Health) units of study to Year 6 and Year 7 students. Prior to this employment, I was working with a Training Provider in Liverpool. It was here that I delivered our BTEC level 2 and 3 Sport programmes.

The course at UCLan further developed my employability skills. The course content was a huge incentive for me… I would be undertaking a wide range of domains that would further question and develop my understanding of the coaching realm.

The course presented me with numerous opportunities to enhance my awareness and understanding of coaching. The modules covered were stimulating and made me critically question my own practices and those of ‘others’ within the domain of coaching. The standard of teaching / tutoring was consistently high resulting in an ethos whereby discussion, critical thinking / reflection, awareness were pivotal to self and peer development.

The staff are incredibly supportive and possess invaluable experience (research and industry related). Prior to undertaking my programme, I did not know what my capabilities were. Amazingly, I was ‘forced’ out of my comfort zone and I have never looked back. I have nothing but appreciation for the staff!
