FD NEW MEDIA DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY. PROGRESSED TO BSC (HONS) INTERACTIVE DIGITAL MEDIA AT UCLAN PRESTON
PARTNER INSTITUTION: BURNLEY COLLEGE
Kim realised that she wanted to pursue a career in Graphic Design only a year before she commenced her foundation degree at Burnley College.
As a hobby, Kim enjoyed taking and editing photos, making banners and cards and was also very keen on PC graphics in general. As a result of her amateur interest, she applied for a position as a junior graphic designer. However, the company could not offer her the position without the correct vocational skills. Kim decided to study FD New Media Design & Technology and found that the location of Burnley College was very convenient to her home. She found that the smaller classes at Burnley College made it easier to get to know her fellow students.
After completing the foundation degree, Kim decided to top up to the honours degree at UCLan after learning through College and UCLan tutors that it would offer more opportunities to her.
“The course gave me the practical skills and the ability to learn software that would otherwise have been too expensive to purchase myself.”
Kim graduated with a first class honours degree and is now seeking a position as a Graphic Designer.
