After studying tourism from GCSE level, Cara knew she wanted a career in the industry. Originally with an interest in being Cabin Crew, Cara found the subject fresh and exciting and opted to study International Tourism Management at UCLan.
Reflecting on her time at University, Cara says: “I had some great tutors whilst studying who really engaged me in their classes.”
During her time at UCLan, Cara took on a part-time job as a Receptionist at Premier Inn, a job which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Due to her level of skill, upon graduation Cara was offered a full time position as Team Leader at Premier Inn which led to a job offer of Deputy Manager at the Premier Inn in Blackpool. This role involved Cara running the site for 12 months before fulfilling a number of different management roles in the company such as Deputy General Manager of Bolton Reebok Stadium Premier Inn and General Manager of Chorley South Premier Inn.
Cara is currently in the role of Operations Manager at Preston City Centre Premier Inn. This role includes ensuring that the day to day running of the hotel is managed to the highest standard possible, whilst meeting all budgets, complying with the brand and working within the correct safety framework. Cara leads and motivates her team on a daily basis to ensure that they deliver the best service possible in order to create a brilliant guest experience.
Since graduating, Cara believes her greatest achievement was becoming the Operations Manager at the new Preston City Centre Premier Inn, where she became part of a fantastic site and team which is now delivering great results.
