Course:
MA Sports Coaching
Graduated:
2014
Employers Since Graduating:
KEPT Sports Coaching, Total Fitness

I currently work as Product Manager for Total Fitness, after working as a Fitness coach and Personal Trainer. The job entails working in club with Total Fitness 3rd party companies to deliver the best possible experience for our members

The course enhanced my personal skills immensely, especially the ability to public speaking. I gained the skills to set deadlines on tasks, and complete them within the set timeframe. Many modules on the course were group projects/group based and this in turn allowed me to develop to work within a cohesive group and be successful during working in groups.

My course directly influenced my ability to gain future employment after the course had ended. I went into casual sports coaching after the course working to deliver the national curriculum within secondary and primary school settings. After which I went into the fitness industry, where my course enabled me to train members of the public successfully. Using the skills learned I was able to create 1 on 1 rapport with clients, listen to any objections they had and also allowed them to learn independently and empower them to find solutions for themselves.

UCLan offers fantastic facilities to learn and engage with sports coaching. There are many opportunities for work placements to aid with your course and degree. The standard of teaching is also very impressive, staff dedicate time and resources to help you succeed in your course.
